Kambo Prep & Integration Guide

Kambo Benefits

Kambo (Frog) medicine has been known to heal and positively effect a wide range of conditions. It brings healing to the entire being: body, mind, emotions and energy – soul. It affects nearly every organ system in the body, bringing much needed cleansing, recalibration and healing. Some conditions that Kambo is used to treat, include: healing pain and inflammation, sciatica, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, tendinitis, migraines and chronic headaches, asthma, bronchitis, acne, allergies, gastritis, ulcers, diabetes, blood pressure issues, obesity, menstrual irregularities, infertility, impotence, decreased and overactive libido, depression, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, insecurity, nervousness, fear, stress, fatigue, physical exhaustion, addiction, mental and emotional detoxification, stuck negative energies. For maximum benefit, it is recommended to receive the medicine 3x within a lunar cycle (28 days).

Kambo Preparation

To receive maximum benefit, it is important to eat a clean diet before and after the Kambo cleanse. This means eating whole unprocessed foods, grains, fruits, green leafy vegetables. Eat as close to a vegetarian or vegan diet as possible for at least 3-7 days before your session. Avoid alcohol, drugs, sex, processed foods and sugar for at least 3 days prior to treatment and 3 days after, as these activities decrease our vitality and deplete the energy received from the frog medicine. Be conscious of your energetic and mental consumption, as well limiting interactions with lower vibrational people, places, habits, technologies, social media, news, tv, food and substances.

Proper hydration is vitally important when working with Kambo and must be included in your preparation and integration process. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of clean water per day before and after your session. Be careful not to under or over-hydrate as this can interfere with your body’s ability to process the medicine safely and effectively.

Aftercare and Integration

Kambo sessions will generally last between 2-4 hours. It is important to not schedule anything for the rest of the day after your session, if possible. Give yourself time to rest, take a walk in nature, relax and to integrate.

After working with Kambo, some people feel a heightened sense of energy and vitality, while others feel tired and achy. It is not uncommon to continue to purge stuck emotions and thought patterns in the days after your cleanse. Be patient and gentle with yourself and remain present and open to the process as it unfolds.

Do NOT drive immediately after your session, if you are feeling weak or light headed. Give yourself time to acclimate, rehydrate and have a snack. Re-mineralize with mineral water, coconut water or electrolytes. Continue to diligently drink 8-10+ glasses of water daily. Stay out of the direct sun for 24 hours.

Continue eating cleanly, as you did in your preparation, for at least 3-7 days or as long as you can. Refrain from difficult to digest foods, meat, dairy, sugar, processed foods, alcohol, caffeine and drugs for at least 72 hours.

Continue to be mindful and conscious about your energetic consumption, including: interactions with people, technology, social media, television, news, and habitual behaviors.

Spend time in solitude and in nature implementing techniques that are grounding and earthing, such as: walking barefoot on the soil, giving gratitude to the frog, making offerings to nature, sitting in or near water, gardening, spending time with trees, and working with mantras, playing instruments and singing or chanting. Continue to journal and take note of the physical and vibrational shifts that emerge.

Kambo Marks and Aftercare

After the Kambo medicine points are removed from your skin, Dragon’s Blood, a Peruvian anti-bacterial/fungal tree sap will be applied to prevent infection, scarring and aid in the healing process. Dragon’s Blood will dry to a scab and act as a liquid bandage while your skin heals. DO NOT cover points with a bandaid or other bandage. DO NOT pick at the points or try to remove/clean off the Dragon’s Blood. You will be able to shower but try not to emerge the points in water or scrub or scratch them off. They will last for a few days to a week or so and will fall off naturally when the skin is healed beneath. Two days after treatment, on top of the Dragon’s Blood, Calendula or Coconut oil can be used to aid healing process and limit scaring. Please stay away from chemical laden “healing” products such as Neosporin.

Your Kambo points will heal and fade with time but depending on your skin color and type you may always have small visible scars. Embrace this and honor them as a reminder of this powerful medicine ally.

Individualized Prep & Integration Sessions

The work we do has the power to shift every aspect of a person’s life. The experience itself can be intense; effects ranging and varying from person to person and journey to journey. It is vitally essential that each person feels prepared for this work. Readying the body, mind and emotional state helps to provide a safe foundation for working with plant and animal medicines. Equally as important is the tender time after ceremony as we re-enter into daily life. Mindfully tending to this period of integration will support the individual in putting into practice the gifts of guidance and transformation received during the ceremony. We have a well- qualified team who can help support each participant with individualized preparation and integration. These sessions are one-on-one and uniquely crafted based on your needs.
